Sycophancy at height and matter of envy!
The newly furnished room of the Principal Secretary of General Administration Department, Sudesh Kumar, is example of both extreme sycophancy and fact that envy is not the forte of only common.
The PS’s room has been extremely well furnished and after the work was completed and the PS was to shift to this new chamber on Wednesday, the registrar of Mantralaya – in-charge for maintenance – took an extra step ahead of his official duty and got some garlands put on the entrance of the chamber as per the traditional rituals.
The sycophancy however did not go down well with Suresh Kumar who immediately ordered removal of the paraphernalia.
This apart, the PS is not able to stop the envious glances that some of the senior officials of Vallabh Bhavan are casting over his chamber. The senior officials are obviously stung at the fact that Kumar’s room was specially furnished and some are even said to be in mood of taking steps towards shifting to the chamber that’s cynosure of all eyes. Envy doesn’t die down with stature or age!
Defacement trouble
Call is over zealousness. A case has been registered against Madhya Pradesh Panchayat Raj Minister Rustam Singh and State Congress Vice-President Sobran Singh under the Prevention of Defacement of Property Act.
Both the leaders are contesting from Morena Assembly seat. A war of banners and posters was going on between them resulting in these being pasted on roads and a temple in Banmor.
A case has also been registered against BSP candidate from Dimni for pasting banners on Anganwadi and government buildings.
`Relative-ity’ is the theory for this IPS
There is this high-profile lady IPS official, who remains in the limelight quite often. Also she has been posted in capital Bhopal since several years now, defying all kinds of trend.
Now what probably could be the reason for continuing good luck of this official? We say that it seems to be the theory of `relative-ity’ that works in favour of this fair officer.
The chief minister is supposed to be her brother and the owner of a major media group in State is supposed to be her uncle. That’s not all. There are number of friends around too.
This theory is certainly helping the lady keep her flag hoisted in Bhopal and to remain in good books of those who matter. Scientific theories are after all to be used in proper context!
More loyal than the king?
The Director General of Police of State SK Raut must be regretting his statement to the media. The DG, few days ago, went ahead of his duty to announce that the saffron activists from State arrested in the Malegaon bomb blast case had nothing to do with the RSS or the BJP. This statement of Raut came after raids in Jabalpur in connection with the case.
However, faced with a dilemma of owing up the activists and getting beaten on Hindutva front by Uma Bharti the BJP Government spokesman and minister Kailash Vijayvargiya admitted that at least one of the activist was directly linked to the BJP and was even a former ticket aspirant.
With this admittance, the DGPs advance clean chit to the RSS and BJP has started looking quite flimsy and there are talks around that the perhaps the DG went a bit out of way to prove his loyalty to government. The Congress naturally has grabbed the chance and lodged a complaint with the Election commission.
EC thunderbolt for DPR website
For the first time since it has started, the website of State Directorate of Public Relations (DPR) was closed down on at the directives of Election Commission recently.
There were several complaints from main opposition in state assembly Congress that the DPR has been highlighting the works of State Government despite imposition of model code of conduct in State.
This is for the first time, when this website has been closed down for elections, since it came to inception few years ago. However the fact remains, after the election schedule was announced, the department had already stopped publishing news highlighting government scheme.
With the closure of the website, a source of information for the common people has been stopped and many journalists would face difficulty in getting news related with government.
