6897 villages linked with Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak

Bhopal. Minister for Panchayat and Rural development Gopal Bhargava has said that all the villages having population up to 250 in tribal areas and villages with population of up to 500 in normal areas have been linked with the all weather roads by the state government. Total 6897 villages have received the advantage of road connection by spending an amount of Rs. 2660 crore under the Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana from 2010-11. Roads measuring 15 thousand 146 k.m. have been constructed. He further informed that the Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana has been implemented by Madhya Pradesh government on the lines of Pradhanmantri Gram Sadak Yojana. There is target to link 9109 villages of 51 districts with all weather gravel roads under the scheme.

Under the Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana, 790 k.m. roads by spending Rs. 252 crore in 2011-12, 3876 k.m. roads spending Rs. 794 crore in 2012-13, 5838 k.m. spending Rs. 627 crore in 2013-14, 1967 k.m. spending Rs. 438 crore in 2014-15, 1353 k.m. spending Rs. 184 crore in 2015-16 and 568 k.m. by spending Rs. 196 crore in 2016-17 have been constructed. Similarly, 754 k.m. roads have been constructed by spending Rs. 110 crore in the year 2017-18. In this way, a total of 6853 roads have been constructed in the state.
