Chouhan attends meeting at PM Residence
New Delhi. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi. A delegation from the United Arab Emirate was also present during the meeting. The meeting was called in the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which the Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra states were called to discuss the scope of trade with U.A.E. Deliberations on trade with U.A.E. and these states took place in the meeting.
In the meeting, an elaborated presentation on Industrial, Agricultural and Trade potential in the state was given by Madhya Pradesh. Moreover, scope of export potential was explored on the occasion. Chouhan informed that the agriculture growth rate of the state is above 20 percent since the last many years. Record production in wheat, pulse and spices has been registered in the state. Records have been set by Madhya Pradesh in the field of horticulture also. Chouhan further said that U.A.E. and India are enjoying good relations since long. He hoped that this meeting will further strengthen the relations between the two countries.
Agriculture Export Promotion Agency constituted in M.P. - Chouhan informed that the State Government has set up an Agriculture Export Promotion Agency to explore the scope of export to other countries. A Task Force comprising five members each from the State Government and U.A.E has been constituted for this. The task force will conduct workshops in the entire state and will explore the scope of products to be exported. Besides this, an agreement on contract farming was also signed with U.A.E., under this agreement farmers could directly export their produce abroad.
Chief Minister has informed that the State Government has also given a proposal to set up a special economic zone (S.E.Z.) near Indore. Concessions in various taxes will be given in the zone. The State government has prepared a new Food Processing Policy, passed by the cabinet to help farmers open their own food processing unit and to earn profit by exporting their products.
Farmers’ Workshops to be organized in state from May 28 to June 9 - CM further informed that workshops of farmers will be organised in different areas of the state from 28 May to 9 June. Farmers will be apprised about the various schemes to enable them to avail maximum benefit under the schemes.
