Chouhan inaugurates solar-run electric car
Bhopal.Shivraj Singh Chouhan today inaugurated an electric car run by solar energy at the Mantralaya on World Environment Day. With this, the operation of e-vehicles has begun in the state.
This electric car will be charged with solar energy. Once it is charged the car will run up to 140 km at a cost of 80 paise per kilometer. Emission of at least 4.5 ton carbon dioxide from each vehicle will be reduced every year. Such a vehicle will ensure environment conservation.
CM Chouhan said that the temperature of the earth is increasing each day. Pollution caused by increasing number of vehicles is destroying the environment of the cities. He said the solar-run electric vehicle is a step to check pollution. Such an eco-friendly technology is welcome.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated a machine to destroy plastic bottles set up by the Environment Department at the Vallabh Bhavan canteen on the occasion. It may be noted here that this year is dedicated to the efforts of making the state and the country plastic-free.
Industry Minister Rajendra Shukla, Public Works Minister Rampal Singh, Animal Husbandry Minister Antar Singh Arya, New and Renewable Energy Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha, Principal Secretary of Environment Department Anupam Rajan besides officers of the Renewable Energy Department and Urja Vikas Nigam were present.
