Crop support price to be decided after adding 50 percent in farmers’ cost

Sidhi. The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan during his address in Amarpur of Sidhi district said that crop support price will be decided after adding 50 percent in the cost of farmers. He informed that paddy will be procured at the rate of Rs. 1700 per quintal in the current year. Chouhan was performing the bhoomi poojan of the second phase of Mahaan Project in Amarpur. On this occasion, he also laid foundation stones of various development works costing approximately Rs. 39 crore for Sidhi district.

CM further informed that the state government has made irrigation arrangement on 40 lakh hectare area. Irrigation facility has been expanded to the entire Vindhya region by the Bansagar Project. Furthermore, irrigation facility is being expanded in Sidhi district by the Gulab Sagar Mahaan Project. The 25 k.m. long Mahaan main canal and 72 k.m. long minor canals will be constructed under the second of Mahaan project Bahri Canal expansion phase. A total of 7424 hectare land of 75 villages of Sidhi and Sihawal blocks will be irrigated after the construction of canal. Over 27 thousand farmers will be benefitted by this scheme. It will bring improvement in the economic and social conditions of the farmers; ground water level will increase and will facilitate sufficient water and availability of fodder for cattle.

Apprising about the public welfare schemes, Chouhan urged people to come forward with their rights to avail benefits of the schemes. The government has launched a campaign to transform people’s life through development. The Sambal Yojana has been implemented to provide basic facilities to the weaker section of the society and facilities like land deeds, house, education, health and employment are being provided to the poor families under the scheme. Moreover, the state government is providing facilities and support of every kind for the talented children of the poor families to pursue higher education. Chouhan mentioned that they must encourage their children for education as the government will make complete arrangement in this connection. Electricity bill at the rate of just Rs. 200 per month is being given to poor families by waiving off their huge electricity bills. Regarding Soubhagya Yojana, Chouhan said that electricity is being provided to each village and majra-tola. Now the day is not far, when every house of poor will illuminate with electricity.
