Electricity reaches 16 lakh 81 thousand houses through Saubhagya Yojana
Bhopal. The positive outcome of Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana “Saubhagya” scheme has started showing in the state. So far 16 lakh 81 thousand 55 houses have been provided power connections through the Saubhagya Yojana. Target has been set to electrify the remaining houses by the month of October. Electricity connections are being made available in all such households in the state which have been deprived of power for years due to the effective initiative taken by the Centre and the state government. All three Power Distribution companies are making speedy efforts to provide electricity connections to all such houses which have no electricity easily.
Cent percent electrification target has been completed in 19 districts of the state including Mandsaur, Neemuch, Indore, Aagar-Malwa, Dewas, Khandwa, Ujjain, Ratlam, Ashoknagar, Harda, Shajapur, Sehore, Bhopal, Dhar, Seoni, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur and Jhabua. In the next few days, the target of cent percent electrification will be completed in 6 districts under the Saubhagya Yojana. Among these districts, Hoshangabad is ahead with 99 percent, Khargone with 98 percent, Gwalior with 96 percent, Alirajpur with 96 percent, Badwani with 95 percent and Datia with 95 percent.
All three Power Distribution Companies and their regional and local engineers and personnel are actively involved in the implementation of the Saubhagya Yojana so that the benefits of this scheme reach every poor family without power connection. So far the Purva Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company has provided power connections to 6 lakh 3 thousand 319 houses. Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran company has helped illuminate 6 lakh 84 thousand 633 houses against their target. Similarly, Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company has provided power connections to 3 lakh 93 thousand 103 houses.
