Former Mandla Collector Shri Lokesh Jatav Becomes E-Governance Champion
Bhopal. Minister for Revenue, Science and Technology Umashankar Gupta presented E-Governance Award for the year 2014-15 to the then Collector of Mandla Lokesh Kumar Jatav. He also distributed ‘Excellence in E-Governance’ awards under various categories.
Gupta said that use of e-governance will prevent corruption and will provide prompt services to the people. He further mentioned that I.T. consultants are being provided to the departments to encourage e-governance. Gupta said that names for awards for the year 2015-16 will be finalized shortly. Government programmes should be held in Hindi only, he added.
Gupta gave 23 awards to institutions/officers in 10 categories including first award to Social Justice and Disabled Welfare department for reforms in online social security pension and second award to Food -Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection department for M.P. P.D.S. Portal. Moreover, Madhya Pradesh State Election Commission was awarded with first prize for better use of I.T.
In addition, the awards were given to Madhya Pradesh West Power Distribution Company for Rewa City Info E.R.P, District Administration Mandla for Jan-Akansha, Railway Police for GRPM Help Application, Commissioner Office-Indore for M. Attendance, Labour commissioner Office for Encouragement to Citizens Services, District Administration Ujjain, district Administartion Dindori, Directorate of Women Empowerment for E-Ladli, School Education department for M.P. Education Portal, M.P. Rural Road Development Agency for E-marg. Prakahr Online Raghogarh –Guna, Annapurna Enterprises Rajgarh-Dhar, AISECT Education Centre Papondh –Shahdol, Nagrik Suvidha Kendra Lakhroni-Damoh, Lok Seva Kendra Malthon-Sagar and Jawahar Kisan Blog were awarded to provide citizen services using I.T. and for reforms in governance.
Principal Secretary Science and Technology Mohammad Suleman said that all the departments should utilize information and technology more to bring transparency in works. He also laid emphasis on innovations. Vote of thanks was proposed by the Chief Executive Officer MAP I.T. Raghuraj Rajendran.
