Madhya Pradesh bags 4 national awards for innovations
, DelhiUnion Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Hardeep Singh Puri conferred 4 national awards on Madhya Pradesh for innovations in the Urban Development sector on the first day of the two-day national workshop organized at Lucknow. This award was given to Madhya Pradesh for Public Bike Sharing and B-Nest Incubation Centre in Bhopal’s Smart City Project and for smart classroom and Waste to Energy plant of NDMC of Jabalpur Smart City. In addition, Government of India granted incentive of Rs 34 crore for best implementation of Amrut Yojana to Madhya Pradesh.
It may be noted that public bike sharing is aimed at environment conservation and to lessen the pressure of traffic on the main roads of the city under Bhopal Smart City. The public bike sharing system was started in the city on June 25, 2017. About 36 thousand users of the city have connected to this project who are taking the benefits of 350 cycles through 69 cycle stations. For this a 12 kilometre long and 5 metre wide dedicated cycle track has been created in the city. Unemployed youth who are not able to give shape to their new ideas due to lack of resources are given a platform through B-Nest incubation centre. Better working environment along with resources are made available to the youth at this centre. They are also provided ideas for marketing and financing of their product besides legal advice.
As many as 20 classes of 5 Government Higher Secondary Schools of the city have been transformed into smart class rooms in NDMC smart classroom of Jabalpur Smart City in which the syllabus is being taught in different languages through 2-D and 3-D images. Facility of virtual classes has been provided with the help of smart studio in the schools, where any teachers can teach students sitting in classes in all the schools from one place. The Jabalpur Municipal Corporation is producing 11.5 MW electricity based on Public Private Partnership model in the Waste to Energy in Jabalpur Smart City. The Power Distribution Company is selling this electricity at the rate of Rs 6.39 paise per unit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi to award Control Centre today - Prime Minister Narendra Modi will award Madhya Pradesh for the Integrated Command Control Centre created in Bhopal’s Smart City Project at the national workshop on July 28. Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Shri Vivek Agrawal told that this award will be given to the Bhopal Smart City’s Integrated Command Control Centre for its unique initiative. He said that this centre is the first one of its kind command centre of the country through which nearly 20 services in all 7 smart cities of the state have been connected and are being constantly monitored. Among these services, C.M. Helpline, Solid Waste Management Service, Emergency Fire, Police and Health Service-108 at the state-level and in the city-level services Mayor Express, Public Bike Sharing, Smart Streetlights etc. are monitored and controlled.
PM to visit Madhya Pradesh exhibition - Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also visit the attractive exhibition of the innovations done by the Madhya Pradesh government in the urban development sector. In this exhibition, the innovations made in the Urban Development sector by Madhya Pradesh and the works of Amrut Yojana and Smart City are displayed.
