Modi to dedicate Mohanpura Irrigation Project
Minister for Public Relations, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Narottam Mishra gathered information from the officers of the Water Resources Department in connection to the preparations of dedication programme of Mohanpura Major Irrigation Project. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Mohanpura Irrigation Project of Rajgarh district on June 23.
The project costing Rs. 3 thousand 866.34 crore has water reservoir capacity of 573 MCM. The reservoir will facilitate irrigation on 1.34 lakh hectare area and will ensure better arrangement of potable water in about 400 villages. The reservoir built under the project is 2 thousand 700 meter in length with the maximum height of 48 meter. This project will benefit 7 hundred 25 villages of Rajgrah district.
It is to be highlighted that special attention has been paid in Madhya Pradesh to enhance irrigation area during the last 14 years. All the pending projects have been completed to supply water through various resources as per farmers’ need. Along with this, pace of approval and implementation of new projects has been accelerated in the state.
