National Women’s Commission Chairman meets CS Singh
Bhopal. National Women’s Commission Chairman Rekha Sharma met Chief Secretary Basant Pratap Singh. CS apprised Sharma with the various schemes and programmes being run for women in Madhya Pradesh and about their progress. Sharma said that reservation of posts for women in Police Department is a commendable initiative in the direction of women empowerment. She laid stress on the need to make separate arrangement for women candidates during the recruitment process. Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Women and Child Development J.N. Kansotiya, Principal Secretary Tribal Affairs Department S.N. Mishra, Principal Secretary Social Justice Ashok Kumar Shah, Principal Secretary School Education, Dipti Goud Mukherji, Commissioner Women and Child Development Ashok Kumar Bhargav were present on the occasion.
It was informed during the meeting that over 30 lakh girls have been registered under the Ladli Lakshmi Yojana which started in year 2007. As many as 84 thousand 359 Shaurya Dal have been constituted at Anganwadi level in the state which aim at empowering women socially and economically at the local level. Lado Abhiyan has been started in the state to put an end to the social evil of child marriages. Sashakt Vahini Abhiyan has been launched to make guidance and training available to women for recruitments in the Police Department. Information was also given with regard to Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana, One Stop Centre, Women’s Helpline, Safe City Programme etc. Discussion was also held relating to schemes and programmes being run for women and girls by the Health Department, Social Justice Department, Food and Civil Supplies Department and School Education Department.
