New Families of 15 Categories Linked to Food Security Act
Bhopal. A total of 4 lakh 98 thousand 936 new families of different categories have been included in the Food Security Act. Food Commissioner, Vivek Porwal while informing about this said that the new families have been added after the scrutiny of their applications, received by the districts. He further mentioned that these families will get wheat, rice and salt at the rate of Re. one per k.g.
The new added families include one lakh 74 thousand 09 card holder members of Bhavan evam anya Sannirman Karmakar Mandal. Similarly, 2 lakh 94 thousand 903 families of BPL category, 1,321 of BPL (AAY), 7,788 of subnormal and multiple –disabled category, 7,203 families of scheduled caste category and 5,717 families of scheduled tribe category have been included. Families of labourers of 2,085 closed mills and 3,051 card holder members of kesh-shilpi families have also been included in these families. The remaining, 2,856 families include other categories like residents of old age homes, railway registered porters, card holder fishermen, landless kotwar, immunity agreement, weavers, craftsmen and residents of orphanage.
Moreover, Food Commissioner informed that slips are being issued to all the new families to obtain ration from the ration shops. They will get ration from the nearest shop. Directives have been issued to the concerned officers and district food officers in this regard.
