New procurement centers be opened as per need

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has instructed that new procurement centres should be opened in new districts as per requirement. Payments should be made to the farmers on time. Procurement work should be continuously monitored. Farmer-friendly approach should be taken during the procurement. Chief Minister was reviewing the procurement of wheat, gram, lentil and mustard in the state through video conferencing here. 

Chief Minister said that the farmers should get SMS on time and procurement should be ensured at the purchase centre. Transport after procurement should not be delayed. It should be ensured that farmers get payment on the third day of purchase. If for some reason the farmers cannot come on the day after the SMS notification, the SMS should be re-sent. Purchase, transportation and payments to the farmer should be continuously monitored. Adequate resources and equipments should be ensured at the purchase centres.

It should be ensured that the cut is equal to the weight of the sack. Besides arrangement of shade and drinking water at the procurement centres should be also ensured. An administrative officer should be depute at the procurement centres. The wage rates in the mandis should be increased as per requirement. In the procurement centres where there are no NAFED surveyors, FAQ quality should be procured by forming a committee of agriculture, food and cooperatives departments. Relief should not be denied to the hail and drought affected farmers. The transport of procured foodgrain should not be delayed. Power-run trading machines should be installed at the mandis as per need.

Minister in charge to monitor procurement daily

The Chief Minister said that the collector should review payment status daily along with the procurement work. The minister in charge will also monitor daily procurement work. Report of purchase, transportation, payment and cash should be taken daily. He said that the incentive amount for the year 2016-17 has been deposited in the accounts of most of the farmers under the Mukhya Mantri Krishi Samriddhi Yojana. Incentive amount of Rs. 265 per quintal wheat for the year 2017-18 and the rate of Rs. 100 per quintal in gram, lentil and mustard will be deposited in the accounts of farmers on June 10th.
