Now board exams in State for Fifth, Eighth standards

In-principle consensus has been reached on re-introducing Board Exams for class V and VIII. Priority should be given to 'learn while play'. 
Teaching of Hindi, one regional language and English should be imparted. This was stated by School Education Minister Paras Jain during discussions on National Education Policy at Regional College here today. Educationists of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh participated in it.
Jain said that suggestions to be put forth by educationists will be sent to Union Human Resources Development Ministry. He said that environmental education should also be included in new National Education Policy. 
Jain said that educationists should also give suggestions on use of mobile in education. Minister of State for Higher and School Education Shri Deepak Joshi said that teaching of English should be optional and not compulsory. 
He said that sometimes, student bunk school for fear of English. He said that moral values should also be included in National Education Policy. Joshi informed that Bal Sabha has been started in schools where practical knowledge is imparted to students.
