One who puts his life at stake for others is the real hero

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chounan said that brave citizens and jawans will be recommended for President’s Lifesaving Medal. Those who put their lives at stake to save others are the real heroes of the society. He was felicitating the brave citizens and jawans who rescued people trapped due to heavy rain upstream in Sultangarh in Shivpuri, at CM House. He presented Samman Nidhi of Rs 5 lakhs each to 4 citizens. He instructed to felicitate 3 members each of District Police Force and State Response Force, Gwalior separately. 

CM said that people who do good deeds should be appreciated. Citizens, State Disaster Response Force, Police and Administration did a highly commendable job by rescuing citizens trapped in Sultangarh near Mohana of Shivpuri district recently. He told that he too stayed awake all night and apprised himself with the situation after he got information about the incident. He spoke to the Union Defence Minister and Home Minister. He said that an Indian Air Force helicopter arrived and saved 5 persons but had to return when the weather condition worsened. At such a time, the villagers came to the rescue like ‘Devdoot’ and took people to the other end on ropes after the water level receded. He said that the decision to honour them has been taken due to their courageous attitude and perceptiveness towards social responsibility. He told that Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia had also reached the spot.

Citizens felicitated with a Samman Nidhi of Rs 5 lakhs each by CM Chouhan include Ramdas, son of Sabharam, Bhagirath, son of Jalma, Nijam Shah, son of Shambhu Shah and Kallan, son of Ramjilal. In addition, Sub-Inspector Pradeep Kumar of State Response Force, Gwalior, Head Constable Rajesh Kumar Yadav, Gajendra Singh Kaurav, Sub-Inspector of District Police Force Gopal Choubey, Sub-Inspector Surendra Singh Yadav, Sub-Inspector Amit Sharma and Constable Mukesh Yadav will also be felicitated with Samman Nidhi separately.
