Permit to only those Transporters who Provide Transport Services In Rural Areas
Bhopal. Minister for Transport Bhupendra Singh gave directives to issue permit to those transporters who provide transport services in transport -less villages under the Gramin Parivahan Yojana. He said that benefit of transport services should be provided in villages where there are good roads and where there are no means of transportation.
Reviewing the activities of Transport department, Singh told the officers to initiate action immediately regarding issuance of bus pass to rural youth for attending colleges in city. He mentioned that this facility will be provided to all the rural students of all the government colleges. Benefit will be provided to the students under the scheme to attend colleges in cities, blocks, janpad panchayat and nagar panchayat.
Singh instructed the officials that speed governors should be checked necessarily during vehicles’ checking drive. He told the officers to prepare challans against vehicles violating rules. Moreover, Shri Singh issued directives for registration of drivers and conductors.
Minister Singh mentioned that responsibility of urban bodies should be fixed handing over bus stands of transport department to them. It was informed that more than double revenue has been received this year in comparison of 2013 and 7 fold increase has been registered compared to last government.
Principal Secretary Transport S.N. Mishra and Additional Transport Commissioner R.K. Jain were present in the meeting. Deliberations on automatic fitness centre and driving track etc.were also discussed on the occasion.
