Publish news about good works on priority basis
Bhopal. Governor Anandiben Patel called upon the young journalists that they should give space to news about good works on priority along with sensational news items in the newspapers. Newspapers are an important medium to bring positive development works being undertaken in the society and the country before the world. The Governor said this today while inaugurating a national symposium at the Madhavrao Sapre Memorial Newspaper Museum and Research Institute. The Governor visited the library and reviewed the magazines, granths and newspapers available there.
Governor said that in the present times, the newspapers should focus on increasing their TRP also, but in this race it must not neglect any actual and true news item, this also has to be taken care of. She said that today women are moving ahead in every field. They are working jointly on improving their future. The Governor stressed on the need to bring quality in journalism. She said that if need arises, news about people’s welfare must be given prominence instead of giving place to news about the Governor or the Chief Minister. She said that it is the responsibility of the newspapers to take the government’s public welfare schemes to the people.
Professor Vartika Nanda of Sriram College, New Delhi said that there are innumerable media channels in India. She said that today women are moving ahead in every field then why can’t they be journalists. Prof. Nanda said that participation of women in the field of journalism has increased in the last ten years. Vice Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi University of Journalism Jagdeep Upasane said that in our country a woman is seen and revered as a Devi, mother and sister. Today women journalists have achieved great heights. He said that at present collision of two viewpoints can be noticed in journalism. Vice-Chancellor of Wardha Dr. Girishwar Mishra said that women have made a significant contribution in the field of journalism. The journalist is responsible for retribution and resistance. Several governments toppled and several ministers were jailed due to precision journalism. He said that misuse of social media has given rise to incidents of character abuse.
Highlighting the activities of the Institute, Vijaydutt Shridhar, the founder of Madhavrao Sapre Memorial Newspaper Museum and Research Institute said that Pandit Madhavrao Sapre was the creator of Hindi era, an essayist and critic. He was the connoisseur of the potential future of promising young talents. A portrait of Mahatma Gandhi's Burman Ghat (Narsinghpur) tour was presented to the Governor on the occasion. A large number of journalists and dignitaries were present in the programme.
