Purchase of gram, masoor, mustard will be on MSP
Bhopal. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the state government is committed to give fair price to the farmers for their produce. He said that garlic and onion will be purchased under Mukhya Mantri Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana whereas the produce of gram, masoor and mustard will be purchased on the Minimum Support Price fixed by the Government of India.
In a discussion with the media here today at the Mantralaya the Chief Minister told that adopting a positive note on Mukhya Mantri Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana, Government of India is considering its implementation for the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has constituted a Group of Ministers presided over by Home Minister Rajnath Singh to ponder over it. This Group of Ministers will hold a discussion on Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana and take the decision to implement it in the whole country.
The Chief Minister said that it has been decided that gram, masoor and mustard will be purchased on support price. Garlic and onion will be purchased under Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana. The Chief Minister said that despite drought, there has been bumper production of these crops in the state. State government is committed to give fair price to the farmers for their produce.
Those farmers who have got registered for their gram, mustard and masoor crops under Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana, their registration will be valid for purchase on support price. Those farmers who have not got registered, they can get registered till March 31 for purchase on minimum support price. Government is committed to purchase crops on support price. He said that he will address farmers of the state in this connection on March 24 at 7 pm.
It may be noted here that Rs 4400 per quintal minimum support price has been fixed for gram, Rs 4250 per quintal for masoor and Rs 4000 per quintal has been fixed for mustard.
