Rural Road Authority gets 3 national awards for best quality
Delhi. Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority received three national awards for its outstanding contribution in the construction work of rural roads by Union Minister for Rural Development Narendra Tomar. Chief Engineer, Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority P.K. Nigam received the awards on behalf of the Madhya Pradesh government at a programme organized at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.
Chief Executive Officer M.P.R.R.D.A Nitesh Vyas told that Madhya Pradesh has bagged the first prize for use of new technology in road construction in year 2017-18 and also in quality control besides the state bagged the third prize for constructing the longest road in the country.
It may be noted that nearly 78 thousand kilometer road has been constructed in Madhya Pradesh under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Asphaltation work of 10 thousand 500 kilometer roads constructed under Mukhya Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is in progress. E-MARG or G-RICH software has been developed using modern technique in construction as well as monitoring of roads by the Authority which has also been lauded at the national level. Union Minister of State for Rural Development Ram Kripal Yadav, Secretary Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Amarjit Singh, Additional Secretary Sanjay Kumar and rural development officers of other states were present during the award ceremony.
Rural Development Minister Bhargav extends good wishes - Panchayat and Rural Development Gopal Bhargav extended his good wishes for the awards obtained by the Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority at national level. He said that Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak, is the spine of development of the rural region. This has changed the picture of the Madhya Pradesh rural region. Nearly all villages have been connected to the main roads of the state. In addition, hectic work of connecting thinly populated villages with Barahmasi roads is in progress.
