Thinking and status of women has witnessed a change
Bhopal. Governor Anandiben Patel has said that connecting with self-help groups has brought about a change and awakening in the thinking, circumstances and work of women. Today the woman wants to move ahead in all areas. Now it is necessary to provide full assistance to women to move forward. Development of the country is possible only with the development and prosperity of women. Patel was addressing the annual meeting of National Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) organised on the occasion of its 37th Foundation Day. Members of more than 500 women self-help groups and agriculture production organisations who had come to attend the meeting from various districts shared their experiences with the Governor.
Governor said that the woman is a storehouse of strength. This strength must be used for the welfare of the country. She said that women first think for their family and think about themselves after everyone else. Now the time has come when women start thinking about their own development and prosperity along with thinking about the welfare of their family. Women should work hard for their prestige and self-respect, attain training and avail full benefits of the bank loan facility being made available to them for business by the Centre and the state government.
The Governor said that it is the result of parents' awareness that today the daughters are being given priority in education and are serving the country by staying at higher positions. He urged the people present in the ceremony not to adopt the practice of child marriage.
MP Alok Sanjar said that Gandhiji's vision for the progress of villages is being fulfilled today under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In today's society, women are employed in every field at par with men. He said that a woman is an epitome of respect, affection and modesty. Government should take strict disciplinary action for women's honour. Regional Chief General Manager of NABARD S.K. Bansal threw light on the activities of NABARD on the occasion. The Governor also reviewed the products and material prepared by the women self-help groups.
