Uphaar Yojana to transform government schools into fully equipped schools
Bhopal. The Uphaar Yojana is being implemented in the state to transform government schools into fully equipped schools with people’s participation. Apart from increase in the basic facilities, infrastructure works are also being carried out in schools under the scheme. Development works at the cost of Rs. 4 crore approximately have been undertaken till now. The School Education Department has also issued instructions to the District Education Officers to encourage people’s participation under the Vidyalaya Uphaar Yojana.
Under the scheme, all the government schools could receive gifts from the society to fulfill school’s requirements by identifying them. The main objective of the scheme is to receive items in the form of gift from the society for the physical and academic development of school. The module ‘Vidyalaya Uphaar Yojana’ has been made available on the education portal. It will help government schools to upload their requirements on the module through Block Resources Coordinator. The gratitude letter will also be presented by the School Management Committee to the organization, person, group, trust or company for providing items worth over Rs. 10 thousand to the government school. Their names will also be displayed on the education portal under the scheme. Schools could receive necessary items required for kitchen, water filter, water cooler, fans, furniture, sports goods in the form of gifts and for sinking tube well besides well in the school campus.
A total of 400 tablets (computer) have been provided to the government school with peoples’ cooperation in Gwalior District.
Rotation seating system for students - Rotation seating system has been implemented in class rooms in all the government schools to provide equal opportunity to all the students to sit at the first row. It was seen that few selected students sit at the first row in class rooms permanently. Others students were not getting this opportunity earlier. This system has been implemented to bring reform in the system. Besides this, arrangement has been made in all the middle, high and higher secondary schools for hoisting National Flag daily before holding classes to strengthen feeling of patriotism among the students.
