Use CSR Fund for development of private schools

Bhopal. School Education Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah has said that Pranam Pathshala Vidyalaya Uphar Yojana is being run to increase public participation in the development of private schools. This has given positive outcome. The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Fund can be used to ensure better quality and for the development of government schools. Shah was addressing a meeting held for the implementation of the scheme at the Mantralaya here today.

Industry Minister Rajendra Shukla said during the meetings that there is an amount of about Rs 500 crore in the CSR fund in the state. He spoke about constituting a state-level committee for better utilisation of this amount

It was told that around Rs 6 crore 25 lakh has been collected through public participation in the last few months under Pranam Pathshala Uphar Yojana. This amount is being used for the development of government schools. The CSR Fund can be used mainly for construction of additional classrooms, overhead tank in schools, development of sports ground, reconstruction of school building, development of the library and science laboratory.

It was told that there are about one lakh 20 thousand government schools in Class -1 to 12 in the state and in which about 92 lakh students are studying. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, School Education, Deepti Gaud Mukherjee, Commissioner, Public Instruction, Jayshree Kiyawat, M.D. TRIFAC Vivek Porwal and Director State Education Center Lokesh Jatav.
