Vanopaj Sangh purchases 26 thousand quintals of Mahua flowers

Bhopal. State Laghu Vanopaj Sangh has so far purchased nearly 26 thousand quintals of Mahua flowers. After Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s announcement on April 18 to increase support price of Mahua flower and Mahua Gulli collection from Rs 14 to Rs 30 per kg, the flower collectors have been reaching the centres in large numbers to sell their products.

Sangh President Mahesh Kori informed that 1,135 Mahua collection centres have been set up through 60 Zila Laghu Vanopaj Unions in the state where the purchase of Mahua flowers and Gulli is on. Maximum collection has been done by Shahdol and Umaria Zila Union. He has appealed to the collectors not to fall in the trap of mediators. He urged them to reach the fixed Purchase Centre where they can sell their produce for a fair price.
