Women self-help groups should contribute in removing social evils

Bhopal. Women self-help groups should ensure their contribution in removing evils and addictions that are spreading in the society. Governor Anandiben Patel was addressing the closing ceremony of the national level exhibition-cum-sale fair of products of self-help groups, artisans and agriculturist organizations organized by NABARD. She said that if we all take the pledge to follow the path shown by Gandhiji of not taking intoxicants and following the path of truth and non-violence, it will be a true tribute to Gandhiji.

She said that all the countries of the world consider their nation masculine, but our country is worshiped as Bharat Mata. Therefore, women in our country have been honoured for centuries. Mahatma Gandhi fought for freedom by running a spinning wheel, thousands of freedom fighters laid down their lives for the country without any discrimination, and today we are struggling with the problem of casteism. Governor said that today we will have to think what we wish to do for our country. The Prime Minister’s Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas concept can be realized only, if we love our country and work in the country's interest by extending support and cooperation for education of all, help to poor and development of all. She said our ancestors encouraged the idea of reaching out to the masses. The Prime Minister endeavoured to reach out to the masses by making schemes as per Gandhiji’s dreams in the last four years.
