Youth Festival to be held twice in a year now
Bhopal. Minister for sports and youth welfare Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia said that state youth festival would be organised twice in a year to get involved more and more youths in it and make competitions more interesting. Prize money has also been doubled. Sports minister Smt. Scindia was addressing award and concluding ceremony of 21th state youth festival. Director, Sports and Youth Welfare, Upendra Jain was present on the occasion.
Smt. Scindia said that youths get an opportunity to show their skills and improve personality because of youth festival being organised continuously. She appealed youths not be upset in case of not getting success in competition. What is needed is courage. Courage ensures victory. Smt Scindia congratulated winners of youth festival and said that they should compete with their best so that selectors have dilemma and bring name for Madhya Pradesh in the country. Smt. Scindia presented trophies and certificates to first, second and third winners of cultural competitions. Prize money Rs 10,000, Rs 6000 and Rs 4000 in singles and Rs 6000, Rs 4000 and Rs 2000 in group performance would be deposited in winners' bank account.
State government holds youth festivals at district, divisional and state levels to provide platform to youths to display their talent. First position holders of different competitions are sent to participate in national youth festival. This year, National Youth Festival would be held in Rohtak (Haryana) from January 12.
